THALASSA

My future home for six months

The ship that I can hopefully call my home for half a year is the Thalassa. It's a three-master and is known as one of the fastest ships in the Dutch fleet. I've already been on board once and I would love the show it to you!

The wheelhouse

On these pictures you can see the wheelhouse! Here you steer the ship but also complete tasks like filling in the logbook. Aside from that you see exactly where you are which is also pretty handy ;)

The cabins

We also had the chance to take a look in the cabins. Those look slightly different than usual. During our trip there will be one more bed in between so you will sleep with three people in this cabin.

The salon

This is the salon. Here we will work hard on our schoolwork but this is also the place where we play games and make music for example.

The kitchen

On these pictures you see the diningroom and the kitchen. Once in twelve days i will have kitchen duty instead of watch duty.

The jib jet

This is the bowsprit net, where you can lay down but also come to pack some sails.

The workshop

So many lines!

The workshop with names of the former School at Sea participants on the door.
